The sire

Stravinsky xx first came to the attention of Trakehner breeders when he appeared at the Leverkusen Spring Approvals in 2002. This black stallion, who was bred in Poland but owned by a Dutch breeder had won at M-level in dressage and his under saddle presentation in Leverkusen left people speechless. Such elevation, engagement, modern knee action and focus is seldomly seen in Trakehners, less so in TBs. Stravinsky xx stoo at Gutsverwaltung Schwaighof for only a few seasons, and later sold on to Northern Europe and after an odyseey through East Germany and Scandinavia finally found a home in Great Britain. His breeding couldn't be more interesting, since the sire Revlon Boy xx is a direct descendant of the exceptional German TB sire Blauer Reiter xx, whose family tree also includes the foundation mare Blaue Donau xx and the important Berggeist xx, sire of the Trakehner breed's influential Maigraf xx. Revlon Boy's dam goes back to the heros of German TB and warmblood breeds via Neckar xx, a most important stallion.

The dam

Courage II can claim the status of a stallion mother. Her two Rhineland branded sons by Farewell II were approved in Westfalia, and while the first sold to the National Stud in Sweden, the second, Fuerto, was a premium stallion in Handorf and is now a State Stud stallion in Warendorf. Courage II comes from a family of great sporthorses and brood mares. Her sister Chamonix by Kostolany is dam of the premium stallion Chateauneuf, who is a S-level show jumper in Germany. The combination of the Santiago-daughter Countess with Tolstoi or his sire has also produced several premium mares. Additionally, Countess is also dam of the approved Chabrol (by Alter Fritz). Dam sire Tolstoi comes from one of the best performance lines of the breed. His dam, the elite mare Tugend III, also produced the international show jumpers Tiflis, Trenk and Topas (approved) and her daughter Turandot by Flaneur is dam of the good Turnus. Her daughter Titania by Damaskus is dam of the excellent sporthorse sire Tycoon (GB). Second dam sire Santiago was the champion of his approval in Neumünster and one of four approved Wie Ibikus sons (also EH Vatout, Kiebitz and Ferrum). His dam, the elite mare Schwalbenspiel by Impuls, is one of the breed's most outstanding producers. Her daughter Burgschwalbe produced the champin Seigneur (also ATA), while her other daughter Schwalbenburg is dam of Showmaster, Schwadroneur, Stradivari and Sans Souci, all outstanding stallions in their own right. Probably the most known member of the Cornelia mare family is the major sire EH Caprimond.
