The sire
EH Gribaldi is one of the top three international Trakehner performance stallions today and has several approved sons both in the Dutch as well as Trakehner breed, including the reserve champions Hofrat and Hoftänzer, and the 2004 approved Rheinglanz. Two sons were approved for the ATA, Kougar von C and Kobra von C, and Gribaldi's son Painted Black (KWPN) is one of Anky van Grunsven's hottest newcomer stars. Gribaldi's dam Gondola was also dam of the approved FEI dressage stallion Goldino (by Patricius xx), who sired the 1995 reserve champion Uljanoff as well as the accomplished East German stationed Uckermärker. This is also the line of the multiple champion mare Golda Meir, and the greater family of Gundel also produced the FEI dressage stallion Giorgio Armani as well as the younger Goldschmidt and Godot.
The dam
Cecilia was the champion mare of her inspection in Lower-Saxony in 1998 and carries a rather large amount of TB blood in he rbackground (EH Consul and EH Arogno were Anglo Trakehners, and the dam of Fontainbleau came from a pure TB mare line, Feenlust xx). Dam sire Fontainbleau was the champion in Neumünster in 1993 and an international event horse with credits up to CCI*** levels. Very tragically, he died at only 12 years of age, leaving several exceptional advanced level sport horses as well as good daughters and the approved CCI** eventer El Greco. The mare family, which is a branch of the huge Corrida family, also produced the approved S-leve dressage stallion Chardonnay (by EH Rockefeller). Dam Cecilia is a maternal half sister to the FEI dressage horse Chardon.
