The sire
Buddenbrock was an event horse prior to his breeding career and comes from the ultimate line of event horses: the Habicht line. Buddenbrock offspring have since then appared at a number of National events, e.g. the Bundeschampionat, in both dressage and eventing. On top of that, he produced several good sons, e.g. the 2000 champion King Arthur TSF, the dressage stallion Connery, the full brothers In Petto and In Flagranti (champion in 2003), Epernay, Ippon or Inamorato (ATA). In 2006, Buddenbrock will be awarded the elite title in Neumünster. Buddenbrock's dam, the elite mare Ballerina, is a daughter of the elite mare Blinklicht, whose approved son EH Benz is not only an accomplished Grand Prix dressage stallion, but who also has one of the breed's highest overall conformation and movement index scores (based on his daughters at their inspection). Ballerina also produced the mare Batida, dam of the 2004 crowd favorite Blitz und Donner (by EH Lehndorffs), the premium mare Biskaya (by EH Sixtus), dam of the premium Baracuda (by EH Friedensfürst) and the National Champion mare Bandera (by EH Friedensfürst), who also placed 4th at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. Dam sire Diamant stood in Austria and sired several highly recognized dressage horses for the upper levels. His sire Erzsand also had quite an influence on the ATA breed. The big Blinklicht family is known mostly for great, athletic sport horses, and apart from Buddenbrock and Benz, also the younger Bellheim (by Saint Cloud) comes from this line.
The dam
An exceptional mare with an exceptional pedigree, who additionally was the best 4-year-old of the central mare inspection in Lower Saxony. Comes with three equally good basic paces. A half sister to premium stallion Checkpoint from Webelsgrund stud. Her dam Corna was the first Trakehner to become Bundeschampion under saddle (in 1985) and proceeded in her career in dressage to Grand Prix-level. The 2nd dam Cornau also produced EH Consul and is 2nd dam to Connery. The full sister to Corna, Cornu, is dam of the approved M-level show jumper Cornus, whose offspring excel in dressage and eventing!
The expected foal by Kaiserdom TSF will combine two Bundeschampion pedigrees, and two international Grand Prix dressage pedigree as well: EH Van Deyk and PS Corna. You will hardly find more performance potential in a foal. This is backed up beautifully by Corne's own great mare performance test!
