Description

Don Charly is in line with his brothers Duval, Duke, Donner Charly, and Deauville, with all of them collecting ribbons in dressage at L-level, as appropriate for their age. Don Charly is a very promising prospect endowed with a superior dressage pedigree for the ambitious rider. He has won and placed in materiale classes. Moreover, he placed in a competition for young dressage horses at A-level.

The sire

The elite stallion Charly Chaplin is the breed's most successful dressage sire, when one only counts the ratio of mares bred and offspring competing at Grand Prix. No other stallion comes close, in fact, some 24% of all Charly Chaplin offspring reach S levels and higher in dressage. Still, the amount of chrome and the fact that he was a very busy competition horse himself have kept his breeding numbers low, much to the loss of the breed. Charly Chaplin was retired in Neumünster in 2004, after he had accumulated over 100 wins and placings at S shows in Germany! The stallion still looks like 9 and impressed the crowds once more with his exceptional movement.

The dam

Doreena is one of the few daughters of the overlooked movement producer Korado. This son of Tenor comes from the Dohna'sche K family and his dam Koimbra was one of the handful of offspring that Acajou left. Acajou was by Damaskus out of the elite mare Arctoconius xx, and therefore a maternal half brother to the great EH Arogno. The line continues with more dressage influence through EH Caprimond and extends into the exceptional mare family of Donauquelle originating at Klosterhof Medingen. This line stands for the Grand National Champions Donaumärchen I + Ii as well as Donaufürstin, the top show jumpers Donaumonarch and Donauprints, as well as the younher hopefuls Donaufels, Donaukaiser (now Finland), Donaufischer and Donauzar.
