The sire
K2 was the undisputed champion stallion in Neumünster in 2001. K2 sold at auction for 350.000DM to the pure Oldenburg stud farm Gestüt Sprehe and is a full brother to Key West. The brothers combine two impeccable mares in his pedigree: the National champions Schwalbenburg (dam of 4 approved stallions) and Kalinka. A combination of the Schwalbe and Kassette lines in one stallion. Sire Stradivari had been promoted as a show jumper with excellent results and even though stationed at a remonte spot in the South of Germany, had gotten a name for producing excellent performance horses, both in eventing and show jumping at National level. Upan la Jarthe AA was, for many years, one of the leading jumper sires in the Westfalian breed and also sired the approved FEI dressage stallion Kadre Noir (dam by Ibikus, also from the Kassette line).
The dam
Darino, the full brother to the second dam Dana von der Heide, is a successful M-level dressage horse and was also a stallion candidate in Neumünster. This mare family traces back to the Shagya Arabian mare Duna ShA (by O'Bajan XIII) and produced the S-level gelding Dynamit, the approved stallion Dynamit (both were full brothers!), and the ATA approved Danzig. The line also produced several Arabian stallions that were approved for various German warmblood breeds.
