The sire
Guter Planet isone of the last sons of the great EH Consul in the breed today, a development that is most troublesome considering the impressive record Consul had as a producer of sport horses for the top levels in the Olympic disciplines. Guter Planet, who was the reserve champion in Neumünster in 1989, stood at the Hörem stud all his life and sired approved sons, excellent daughters and most importantly, sport horses that today compete at international levels in all three disciplines. His dam Guayana produced several highly acclaimed mares (e.g. the National champion Gute Welt) and also the 1988 champion Guter Stern, sire of the ATA's Veneziano and dam sire of the champion Elfengeist. The dam line also stands for Birkhof's Grafenstolz TSF and Gipsy King, among many others, and can be called one of the best out there today.
The dam
Fabelhaft's sire EH Bartholdy was the champion in Neumünster in 1982 and produced the approved EH Maizauber and the champion Finley M. He also made a name for himself as an outstanding dressage producer. More outstandinf performance blood comes in the shape of Chinatown xx (also sire of the Trakehner stallion Lichtenstein) and the century sire Donauwind. This mare line, which was one of the breed's most versatile ever, has stood a bit in the back recently and it is refreshing to see that it is coming back now. Feine by Suomar, the foundation mare of this branch, carried some Arabian influence and that usually showed generations down in her progeny. Her family is one of the most dominant "Arabian traits" families of the breed. This line produced the international Grand Prix dressage stallion Fabian (by Donauwind, owned and ridden by Dr. R. Klimke), as well as the internationally successful show jumpers Facetto (approved) and Feuervogel. This is furthermore the line of the outstanding dressage producer Ferrum, who died at only 6 years of age, but had the same dressage index as e.g. EH Marduc.
