The sire
Sire Connery was approved in 2000, qualified for the Bundeschampionat twice and has been doing well as a dressage horse on his way to the FEI levels. His first crop appeared in Neumünster in 2004 and his first son, Aquarius, was approved. In 2005, his sons Elfenfeuer and Imperio were approved, the latter as the shining reserve champion in Neumünster. Connery's dam Caro-Dame II is one of the few daughters of the very good Karo As in the breed, the only approved son of the excellent sport horse sire Vollkorn xx in Oldenburg. Caro-Dame II is a daughter of the late elite mare Cornau, who not only left the breed several highly ranked daughters, but most importantly, the elite stallion and major sire Consul. Other daughters of her include the Grand Prix winner Corna, dam of the premium stallion Checkpoint, or Cornu, dam of the approved Cornus. A close relative to Connery is the 2006 auction mare 106 PS+SPS Corne.
The dam
Hilka is the dam of two exceptional dressage horses: Lemon (by Amiego *Ps*E*), who was a S level winner in Germany and recently sold to the US, winning the ATA's Horse of the Year award at Prix St Georg level with his new rider and owner, Margo Hoagland. Hilka is also the dam of Hinnerck TSF (by Buddenbrock), who was a finalist at the 2005 Bundeschampionat (6 year old dressage horses) with Carola Koppelmann and is owned by the trainer of the German National dressage team, Holger Schmezer. The line continues with the two rare, but proven dressage producers Hemmingway and Major. The latter is sire of Postmeister, whose son Kokoschka was one of the breed's most dominant movement producers. The mare family of Hulla has further produced the international eventer and approved stallion Hannibal (by Roland) and the ATA's Heling (by Bukephalos).
