The sire
Cadeau has the most sons of any stallion in Neumünster this year. A trend that shows how very populat Hörstein's bay charmer is. The stallion was approved in 2001 as the second reserve champion and had an outstanding first breeding season. He won the rideability index of his 70 day test (over 138 points) and finished 4th overall. His seasons as a 4 and 5 year old were marked my several wins at material level, as well as 1st and 2nd level. Cadeau won the Trakehner Championship in Bonn, and would have qualified for the Bundeschampionat if his Danish passport had not cut those ambitions short. Cadeau is a Trakehner Verband elite prospect, even though sadly, he no longer performs due to the high demand in the breeding shed. nice for his owners, no doubt, but troublesome for the breed as this promising stallion should certainly leave his mark in the dressage ring too. His sire Silvermoon recently came back into the spotlight with the international Grand Prix shooting star Matine, his Danish bred daughter who won individual bronze and silver at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, 2006. He is a maternal half sibling to the approved Schampus. Cadeau is a member of the Corry family that originates with one of Trakehnen's best mares, Corrida. This family also produced, among others, EH Consul, Connery, Couleur-Fürst, Carel Deak, Almox Prints J, Cornus, Checkpoint and Chardonnay.
The dam
Hivarna's sire EH Tivano, a full brother to the champion stallion EH Tenor, currently resides in South Germany and stands at stud for Fred Rötschke in Erfweiler, after a long and very successful career at Gestüt Panker. Tivano, who is an accomplished FEI dressage competitor, is primarily known for his many exceptional daughters. A most recent exmaple is Herzenfreude, dam of the 2005 champion Herzensdieb. The second dam Habsburg II, a daughter of the very versatile Guter Planet, is also dam of the celebrated reserve champions and full brothers Hofrat and Hoftänzer. Especially Hofrat, who is steadily moving up towards a majort dressage career with S-level ribbons under his belt, became famous instantaneously last fall when his Hanoverian son Hotline became the champion in Verden - and sold at auction for 800,000 Euro. The Herbstgold family is one of the breed's largest families, and while it alwayss stood out for in hand show success at the National levels, it is also the family of the excellent champion EH Herzzauber (Canada) and the leading international dressage horse of the late 70s, Hirtentraum (by Traumgeist xx with Uwe Sauer). The most recent additions to this family include Herzensdieb, as well as Herzog and Herzfunke.
