Mare family of T7A1 Kassandra (Gestüt Webelsgrund)

The sire

Summertime was approved as a premium stallion in 2000. Stationed at Gestüt Hämelschenburg, he became one of the breed's most popular stallions after the outstanding quality of his first foals crops became apparent. Summertime won young horse competitions in dressage and show jumping and also finished an excellent 70 test. However, since a car accident almost 3 years ago, the stallion has not been shown anymore. Sire EH Michelangelo has been the breed's most successful mare producer for the past 4 years (based on inspection scores of his daughters). After his approval, he was sold to the Netherlands and was a bit forgotten in Germany until 1990 and his outstanding son Kennedy, who became champion of that approval. EH Michelangelo's most successful offspring in the competition world was the Danish gelding Just Mickey. With his Swedish rider, he won Team silver at the 2005 European Dressage Championships in Hagen/Germany, and also participated at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. The dam Saronga was not only a premium mare, but also an under saddle champion and qualified for the Bundeschampionat. She is a close maternal relative to the dam of Samurai II (by EH Mackensen), the reserve champion from Neumünster who ended up living in the US. Another stallion from this small private East Prussian mare family of Sophie is the top show jumper producer Sarafan. This line also produced Sarastro and a number of excellent sport horses, predominantly in eventing and show jumping.

The dam

Kate is the current National Trakehner Champion mare, who won her title at the 2004 National Mare Show in Neustadt/Dosse. Her sire, the late EH Friedensfürst, was an international dressage star when a heart disease cut his life short untimely. The big chestnut, even though promoted in dressage, has left his best get so far n the show jumper stallion Lücke (the only Trakehner in the Hanoverian Show Jumper Program!) and in the young eventing star Brioni. The second dam Kassiopeia III is a half sister to Kotillion, a successful dressage horse at M/A-level. The approved FEI-level dressage stallion Komponist belongs to the same branch of the big Kassette family.
