The sire
Bel Espace Go was approved in Leverkusen in 2003 and finished an outstanding 30 day test with good overall scores both for his dressage potential as well as his jumping performance. He is a successful competitor at M-level in show jumping after a brief intermezzo as an eventer in Ingrid Klimke's barn, and qualified for the Bundeschampionat. Pappillon is his first son in Neumünster out of his first foal crop. The second sire EH Maizauber is an accomplished Trakehner sire: he won FEI at FEI levels in dressage as an active sport horse, sired several high quality daughters and approved sons, of which the international Grand Prix show jumper Humanus certainly stands out. The dam sire Rittersporn was a highly successful S-level show jumper and the only approved son of the great Polish sport horse sire Mazagran in the German breed. Bel Espace comes from the acclaimed mare family of Bellevue, which also produced the Grand Prix dressage stallion Belluno and Lauren Sprieser's top young rider mount Bellinger.
The dam
Paquita's sire Turnus comes from a highly proven Trakehner sport family. His second dam is the elite mare Tugend III, dam of the international show jumpers Trenk and Tiflis, as well as the approved premium stallion Tolstoi. Her daughter Turandot became dam of Turnus, whle her daughter Titania produced the exceptional Tycoon (not to be mistaken with the ATA's Tycoon!). Turnus is one of the last sons of the great DLG-champion Zauberklang in the breed today. The dam line traces back to Dr. Schilke's famous champion mare Palma by Morgenglanz, who founded a vital family. This line is especially prominent in North America, and has its centerpiece in Rappenhof Stud's foundation mare Palma Nigra *E*,dam of four ATA approved stallions, among them the top hunter Platinum vom Rappenhof *Pb*. The greater Pelargonie family has its most prominentr members in the Olympic dressage stallion Peron TSF (Michelle Gibson, USA) and Anky van Grunsven's World Cup winner EH Partout. Through the direct damline, Pappillon is closely related to the approved Pardon Go, and the S-level show jumper Piqueur.
