The sire
Gortus, who passed away only this past summer, was a successful S-level dressage stallion bred in Denmark. He stood at the Heise stud in Bavaria only for the past years. His sire Cantus-Ass was a direct son of the great Ibikus and came from the outstanding Trakehnen mare line of Corvette by Hirtensang. His dam Cavette also produced the mare Catalina, dam of the impeccable Camelot by Arsenal. Camelot, who stood briefly at the Heinen stud in Germany, left the breed a number of outstanding daughters as well as the top sire Gipsy King, and his full sister Gipsy Lady, dam of the multi champion Birkhof's Grafenstolz TSF. The dam line of Gortus also produced the well known Goodwood, a positive movement and jumping producer in the breed, as well as the young dressage mare Giovanna, qualified for the Bundeschampionat and the FEI World CHampioships of the young dressage horse.
The dam
Schützengold is a daughter of the foundation mare Schützenfest xx, who established her own family in the breed. She was a successful race horse and is dam of the approved Sharan (by Schwadroneur) and the promising young riding stallion Schützenkönig (by Hertug). She is also a close relative to the Hanoverian approved Schützenkönig xx. The dam sire Gadsby is one of four approved Karon sons in the Trakehner breed (EH Caprimond, Beaujolais and the deceased Schampus). He too, stood at stud in Bavaria and left several premium mares and good sport horses for the breed so far.
