The sire
Askar AA, who was bred in Poland, was a team member of the Polish Olympic Team in the eventing squad in Atlanta 1996, and finished several CCI*** events in Europe. The bay stallion was approved in Poland earlier in his career and had already sired successful sport horses when he was imported to Germany. Askar AA sadly died after only 2 seasons at stud at Gestüt Gorlo in Melle. Veronese is from Askar's first foal crop in the Trakehner breed.
The dam
The dam Veronika IV is a daughter of the chestnut Hamlet Go, whose dam Hama is a full sister to the dam of EH Hohenstein. Hamlet Go's sire Turnus is one of the last Zauberklang sons in Germany and has made a name for himself as a good sport horse producer. His dam line is highly proven: grand dam ES Tugend III produced the international show jumpers Trank and Tiflis as well as the premium stallion Tolstoi and the dams of Turnus and Tycoon (GB). The pedigree further descends via Don, a good Flaneur son, to the in hand champion mare Vollmacht II. This mare family of Velegue has also produced the approved Vivus, as well as the S-level dressage horses Persiano TSF, Granie, Veneto and Verdi as well as the S-level show jumper Viola.
