The pedigree
IS Orlow ox comes from a sire line that is well known in Trakehner circles. Pamir ox is approved for Trakehners and despite very little chances as a sire, recently produced several noteworthy foals that have plpaced high and won at foal championships in Germany. Pamir oxwas a famous Polish Natinal Champion stallion, and carries the bloodlines that have worked so well with the Trakehner book over the past 60 years - Aswan ox came to Russia as a gift from the Egyptian government (thanks for help during the building phase of the Aswan dam in Egypt!). He is the sire of over 300 Russian Arabians, many of which were formidable race horses. He is also the dam sire of the very good race Arabain Kosmonaut ox, who was imported to Germany by the late Georg Hoogen as a refreshment souce of the Arabian gene in the German Trakehner breed.
Like pretty much all of Hoogen's Eastern imports, he was a huge success, but unfortunately didn't have too many chances. He sired a few highly decordated brood mares, among them the dam of the later approved Marcato (by Hoogen's other import Sapros). Today trained as a dressage stallion, Marcato displayed outstanding jumping talent during his approval in NMS.
Pamir's pedigree further carries Pomerantes ox, the sire of the major stallion Hockey, probably the best Trakehner sport horse sire that ever lived. Pamir's dam line goes back to a daughter of the chestnut Lowelas ox, a stallion of great importance at the Main Stud Trakehnen, where he was used as a chief sire from 1940 to 1944. Among several good daughters, Pelargonie stands out the most as the foundation mare of the family that brought us EH Partout and Peron TSF, among others.
