Mare family of O44A Horsa (Bösel-Altenrade)

The sire

Freudenfest was champion in Neumünster in 1999, and followed his full brother Farinelli, who was proclaimed as champion in 1996. Farinelli competed at S level dressage, while Freudenfest finished his performance test, won young horse classes and then only stood at stud, but was trained to Grand Prix by his biggest admirer, Otto Langels. Freudenfest's sire Tolstoi was premium in Neumünster, and he too never competed much, but sired several approved sons and very good daughters. Tolstoi's dam Tugend is dam of the S level show jumpers Tiflis and Trenk Quattro (both by Flaneur), while her daughter Turandot IV is dam of the approved Turnus (by Zauberklang *E*) and daughter Titania is dam of the great sport horse sire Tycoon (by Donaumonarch). Freudenfest's dam line is the direct one that leads back to the major sire Flaneur, his full brother Mahdi, and the approved Falkensee (NZ and now AUS), Feingeist (CAN), Flugwind, Fasolt (ATA) and Fahnenträger II. Freudenfest is sire of the approved stallions Godot (has two sons in NMS this year), Ostpreusse and Shavalou.

The dam

The third dam, elite mare Hera XVI, earned her title due to the success of her offspring and combines more foundation bloodlines with Donauwind (sire of Athlet) and Altan-son Anwalt as a basis for line breeding to Flaneur in this pedigree. Dam sire Exclusiv is sire of the successful Grand Prix dressage stallion Kapriolan F, and is the dam sire of the 2006 champion in NMS, Songline. The mare family of Horsa also produced the eventing stallion Hannibal (GB) and Heling (by Bukephalos, ATA).
