About the sire:

Tzigane *Pb* is an American bred, born, approved and performance tested Trakehner stallion who has been stationed in Germany since 2010. He is fully approved by the German Trakehner Verband based on his performance record.

After his 2001 ATA approval, Tzigane was ridden by US Eventing Team member Mike Huber (TX). As a 5yr old, he was the most successful Trakehner at Training Level in North America, and stood 5th in the Nation. In early 2006, the stallion switched disciplines and riders, and since then, has been presented by Helmut Schrant (IL) in show jumping. In their first season together, they won at M level. Beginning with 2007, the pair won and placed at S level and in 2008, Tzigane jumped his first Grand Prix. Towards the fall season in 2009, he managed to accumulate the last necessary wins and places for Verband approval within only 2 weeks and multiple events. For years now, Tzigane has been the ATA's most successful approved show jumping stallion with numerous Horse of the Year awards to his name. In Germany, Tzigane has shown at S** level and has several foal crops on the ground now. Among his German-born foals, several made premium status at their inspections.

The sire Graditz *E* was a foundation stallion for the ATA and was known for his many stallion sons, as well as versatile performance horses up to advanced level in dressage and show jumping. The second sire Rondo was a highly accomplished show jumper under saddle, and also produced a number of excellent performance horses, also in the Hanoverian breed. His most popular son was the chestnut E.H. Friedensfürst, an international Grand Prix dressage horse, yet a dominant show jumper producer as a sire. Also, the Rondo son Arthus was an influential sport horse producer, both in Germany and Denmark. The sire line of Schabernack, which originates at the State Stud in Marbach, has only recently stepped back into the spot light. Graditz' mare family of Gittare traces back to the mare Gitta by Alarich. The line produced severals successful sport horse sire that also competed at advanced levels, e.g. Gershwin and former NMS Champion Glanzlicht. Other important sires from this family include Grimsel, Gelria and Grandezzo.

Tzigane's dam Tekoa was a full sister of the dressage stallions Tarim and Tempelritter. She is also a full sister to the influential St.Pr.St. Thila II, a mare that founded a small, but very successful family at Gestüt Hämelschenburg in Germany. The advanced level dressage horses Tylord and Trocadero (Res Champ NMS) come fom this line. The larger family also stands for the very influential sport horse sires Thor and Heros (both jumper producers). The same origin also counts for the jumper sires Tornado I + II, and Topas I as well as the Westfalian Fiedi, who competed internationally as a show jumper.

Dam sire Condus *E* was one of the very few Trakehner representatives of the famous foundation sire Ramzes AA. Only Condus became a son of importance, but several Ramzes daughters also contributed to the bloodline. Among them is the excellent mare Caravelle whose direct line produced international eventers and show jumpers as well as very promising youn jumper stallion Come Close. After his export to the US, Condus bcame a very important sire for the breed in America. Among many excellent daughters, he also produced the Grand Prix dressage winner Leonidas *Pg*, an approved stallion who sired many FEI dressage horses himself.

About the dam:

Pr.St. Chess is a performance tested German premium mare with the Trakehner Verband. Checkmate is her first foal.

E.H. Manrico is one of the most proven all around sport hose sires of the Trakehner breed today and just in the past years has slowly made his way back into the spotlight. His get compete successfully at FI eventing and S level dressage. Manrico was also the champin of his 100 day test and won at Inter I level in dressage. His get constistently inherit great rideability and excllent jumping potential. Manrico's sire Gipsy King was an equally established dual purpose sires in the Trakehner breed with offspring competing at S level in show jumping and dressage. He was one of the last male representatives of the Abglanz line in the Trakehner breed. Gipsy King's dam line, that of the original treck mare Gundula (O326 Poll-Hörem), has produced a number of S level performance horses and the influential stallions Gunnar, Ginster, Grand Passion, Guy Laroche, Guter Planet, Guter Stern, Glenn Grant, as well as the equally versatile Grafenstolz TSF.

Manrico's dam Marcia II is an elite mare for the Trakehner Verband and is also the dam of the highly regarded approved chestnut Märchenprinz by Ecuador xx, who stood in Germany and Denmark. The grand dam Maike is also an elite mare and produced Marcia's full brother, the approved Maifeuer. Maike is also dam of the mare Mailicht by Habicht, whose old daughter Maiwolke by Arrak was successful as a show jumper at M level. From very close maternal relation, we also find the the outstanding show jumper sire Mandant and Marius, whose son Conte Conyaro had a long Grand Prix dressage career with Karin Kunert. This valuable and highly proven dam line is also the background of the S level show jumpers Merlin, Mondsichel and Morgenstern (all sired by Sarafan).

The mare family of Chess is of true outcross character. Isotop was a versatile stallion, whose offspring excelled in jumping and eventing. He is the dam sire of the approved show jumper Graziello as well as the eventing mare Goldika. He is also dam sire of the now famous Trakehner pinto stallion Elvis, who was a significant force in the recent resurrection of the Trakehner pinto breeding program. Isotop's dam was a direct daughter of the famous Main Stud Trakehnen mare Isola Longa. Her big family also stands for stallions like Immer Voran, Indigo I+II, Index, Isländer, Illuster, Infant, EH Itaxerxes and of course, the impeccable major sire Ibikus.

Hortus brings valuable TB blood to the table. The popular Stern xx is ideally enhanced by Pik Ass xx in the falling dam line. This Abendfrieden xx-son was especially successful in the Hanoverian breed, where he founded the exceptional Pik König - Pik Bube I+II line. The dam line of Pik As xx, the TB family of Postenkette xx, also producced the Celle State Stud stallion Perser xx and the exceptional Pindar xx for the Trakehner breed.

The very small East Prussian mare family of Gretchen is also the lnie that produced the Oldenburg premium stallion and international dressage competitor Day Dream (by Don Gregory out of the Trakehner mare Cinderella by Schwärmer).
