About the sire:
Virginian Sky was approved by the ZSAA in Germany prior to his trip to the US and received full ATA approval status in 2012. He is performance proven, currently competing at Preliminary level in eventing, with numerous wins and high placings at Training level. He has also been shown successfully at 3rd level dressage and continued to be developed as an upper level competitor in two disciplines.
Virginian Sky comes from highly proven bloodlines. His sire Best Before Midnight is a successful S level dressage horse in Germany, but won his jumping part in the stallion performance test just as well. He is a son of the important TB Sir Shostakovich xx, who founded a new stallion line within the Trakehner breed. Apart from several high profile sons such as Chateauneuf, a stallion that competes at S levels in dressage and show jumping in Germany, Sir Shostakovich xx also produced several international event horses, e.g. the Olympian Boettcher's Longchamp, or the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** placed Lester Piggott. Best Before Midnight is also the sire of the approved Trakehner stallion Invincible Sir, another S level dressage horse.
Dam sire Bajar ShA was the most successful Shagya Arabian in the Trakehner breed after WWII. He produced a number of international performance horses in show jumping and eventing (e.g. Balzac, White Gril TSF, Bergell, etc) and also founded a stallion line in the Holsteiner breed, where he was fully approved. His get show jump internationally.
Best Before Midnight's dam line (Bergfriede) is one of the most successful sport horse families of the entire Trakehner breed, with a special focus on event horses and show jumpers. No less than 14 show jumpers at 1.45m and higher result from this rather small family, with several S level dressage horses and international eventers in the mix as well!
The dam Virginian Girl xx was a champion steeplechaser in Germany, and raced for 7 seasons. She then became a very productive broodmare and was bred to Best Before Midnight several times, producing several full siblings that are successful competition horses in Germany. The tail family of Virginian Sky also stands for the outstanding major sires Norther Dancer xx, Secretariat xx, Charlottown xx, Ballymoss xx, Busted xx, Hurry On xx, Precipitation xx, and Sir Gaylord xx. Trakehner stallions from this family include Amor II and Astronaut. Amor II is known in North America as the sire of the CCI** Bromont winner and ATA approved eventing sire Amethyst. The TB-2 family also produced Xucar xx (jumper sire in the Trakehner breed, sire of Protector, appr.), the FEI show jumpers Belle Doudou, Lolipop, Tinapaei xx, and Caratella as well as Hunter/Jumper Un Beerenauslese (appr., USA), and the approved Westfalian For Romadour (Bundeschampionat Dressage 2011). The 2-s branch stands for Alleged xx, an influential sire found in the Trakehner-approved stallions Allegrador xx and Fly Society xx. Finally, this is the same tail family as newly ATA approved stallion Sea Lion xx, a four star eventer in the US.
Dam sire Limbo xx won some of Germany's most prestigious youngster races and was third in the German Derby in 1978. His sire Pentathlon xx was an influential race horse and sire in Europe and several of his sons, grandsons and granddaughters found their way into the German warmblood breeds, mostly because of their athletic abilities and their good work ethic. The Angloarabian Don Pedro AA for example, a son of Pentathlon xx, show jumped at advanced levels and produced upper level eventers and show jumpers himself. Pentathlon xx is also the sire of the Trakehner-approved Frescobaldi xx, sire of upper level dressage horses.

About the dam:
Dam Ovation is presenting her first born foal with Of Wind n'Sky.
Fandango is a German bred and approved stallion and was imported to the US by Sherry Tourino shortly after his approval in 2002. He competed successfully both in dressage and eventing until an accident left him sidelined. He has had significant influence on the West Coast as he still stands at Stud at Fantasy Farms in Nipomo and is known as a producer of versatile sport horses that often carry the dominant characteristics of his stallion line. This line traces back to yet another outstanding Shagya Arabian, the grey Lapis ShA, sire of Burnus AAH, a most accomplished competitor and sire of outstanding breeding stock. He was a foundation sire for the young Trakehner breed in the 60s and 70s and produced a number of very influentiel daughters. His son Habicht became the most successful approved offspring of Burnus AAH, competed internationally in eventing, and produced performance horses that won medals at the Olympics (e.g. Windfall *Pg*), show jumped at the highest levels (e.g. Livius) and in further generations, won World Cup dressage shows (e.g. E.H. Solero, Renaissance Fleur TSF). Habicht also established one of today's leading stallion lines via his son E.H. Sixtus and his many, successful sons (e.g. E.H. Buddenbrock).
Dam Flotte is an elite mare with the German Trakehner Verband based on the performance success of her offspring. She produced two S level dressage horses besides ths approved Fandango. Her mare family of Falle also traces back to Shagya Arabian roots via the Gazal ShA-daughter Freude II. This mare also produced the British foundation stallion Fernando. The Falle family stands for the Grand Prix horse Rush Hour, the S level dressage horses Till Eulenspiegel and Falstaff (maternal half brother to Fandango), and in another branch, the approved Troubadour (alternate for the 1988 Seoul Olympics, dressage, Switzerland), the show jumper sire Harnisch, the ATA's Troy as sell as the FEI dressage mare Hippo's Tänzerin and the S level show jumper Flintstone's Take a Crack.
Dam: Ovation

The mare family of Ovation is of pure TB background. The second dam sire Pajou was the only approved son of Avignon II in the American Trakehner breed. Avignon II was a full brother to the major sire E.H. Arogno, one of the breed's most proven dressage producers ever.
