The sire
Hofrat was the reserve champion in Neumünster in 2000. His full brother Hoftänzer followed only a year later in the same position. Both stallions have successful dressage careers, both at FEI levels in Germany. His sire EH Gribaldi was one of the breed's best dressage horses in the international circuits and produced a number of approved stallions, also in the KWPN breed. He is a maternal half brother to the FEI dressage stallion Goldino (by Patricius xx). Hofrat sired the 2005 Hanoverian Champion stallion Hotline, who sold at auction for a record high of 800,000 Euro. Dam sire Guter Planet is one of the breed's most proven and versatile sport horse sires and the third sire Effekt was a son of the great Habicht. Hofrat also has the stallion candidates 41 Giuliano and 42 Patent in this year's collection.
The dam
Dam Kastanie XII also produced the FEI dressage stallion Konradi (by EH Charly Chaplin) and his full sister, the National Champion mare Karissima. Karissima's son Kasimir is an approved Trakehner premium stallion, who qualified for the Bundeschampionat twice now. Furthermore, Kastanie is also dam of the 2003 Neumünster riding horse candidate Kaspare (also by EH Charly Chaplin), who was sold via TI to Ruth and Claudia Demandt in Canada and in 2007, only 7 years old, competed at internationally at Inter I under Ester Mortimer. His full brother Konstantin, from the same auction, but out of the group of non-approved colts, was also sold to the Demandt family and today is one of Canada's most successful younger dressage horses under new owner Whitney Harris and under the name of Klouseau. The second dam Kornubia is also dam of the approved Korado, and dam of the elite mare Kontessina, dam of the premium mare Kolomba, the ATA's 2005 Grand Champion mare at the annual meeting in Conroe, TX.
