The sire
Donaufels is presenting his first son in Neumünster. Approved as a premium at the spring approvals in 2004, Donaufels passed an excellent performance test. He stood at stud at Gestüt Sommerlade and is now owned by Gestüt Wiesenhof, where it is highly likely that his under saddle career will get a fresh boost. Donaufels' dam Donaufürstin was a member of the 1994 All Breed Champion mare family in Germany (Donauquelle vom Klosterhof, represented by three daughters). Out of very close maternal relation we also find the top show jumper Donaumonarch, the 2006 res champion Donaugold, the now Finish-stationed Donaukaiser, the top show jumper Donauprints, the Hanoverian Donautanz as well as the younger Donauzauber and Donauzar.
The dam
Smaller private East Prussian mare line that also produced the approved full brothers Pomerol (FEI dressage) and Powerpoint (both by EH Van Deyk), as well as the good Patras, whose Hanoverian son Pygmalion is dam sire of the jumping wonder Stakkato. Dam sire Kostolany is a leading dressage sire with several offspring in the Top Ten of the WBFSH ranking in 2006. He was champion in Neumünster in 1987 and is one of the breed's most popular and successful sires today. Approved sons include the champion and international dressage star EH Gribaldi, the excellent movement producer Tolstoi and the recently approved Elfado (NMS 2006). Second dam sire Unkensee is the sire of the FEI dressage stallion Fabricio.
