The sire
Handryk was approved in NMS in 1991 and had a performance career as a young horse showing versatile talent in dressage as well as show jumping. Despite rather low breeding numbers compared to other stallions, Handryk sired one hit after another, from the international Grand Prix winner Sachsenkönig and his approved brother Sachsenwald to many auction highlights, and even several Bundeschampionat qualifiers in eventing! Handryk lately has gone through somewhat of a renaissance, and after a most noteworthy appearance at the 2005 Gala Show in Neumünster in honor of his sire, the "Stallion of the Year" EH Van Deyk, was in such high demand that he now stands at stud in Graditz, where he is finally available via fresh cooled semen, thus hopefully gaining more influence. His sire Van Deyk has 9 approved sons worldwide, had an international Grand Prix dressage career, and recently made the news with his two sons, the Bundeschampions Kaiserkult TSF and Kaiserdom TSF. Dam Habiana founded a very strong new family branch of the big Hymna-family (Gestüt Webelsgrund), with her daughter Habsburg and her Artistic-Rock daughters (and National Mare Family Champions). Same dam line was the approved Herzog von Nassau, whose full brother is 21 Hamilton in this year's collection.
The dam
Dam So So comes from a very good East German mare family and is one of the last daughters of the major sire Nerv, a highly accomplished sport horse producer with an excellent reputation. Through him, this pedigree carries valuable, and very old, outside blood. Second dam sire Caprimond is a popular name in Trakehner pedigrees these days. A major dressage sire, he also influenced the breeds in Hanover and Oldenburg. The dam line has produced several good dressage horses, e.g Sant Syr and the international Grand Prix dressage gelding Sachsenkönig (by Handryk). This is also the line of the approved Sachsenwald (also by Handryk).
